I Sat and Waited for this Cornucopia

Yering Sculpture Prize 2015

300 slug and snail sculptures made from an air-drying modelling clay, watercolour paint and varnish

I slept in my garden for 31 nights and I noticed many new things.

Each night I heard leopard slugs eating dog food, observed spiders re-spinning their perfect webs and I watched snails drink from the pond.

I sat and I waited and I watched the quiet world unfurl around me.
