Haper’s Farewell

These funeral pictures were for a special 10yr old boy Harper, and in memory of his father Matt, who both died tragically in an accident in Sherbrooke Forest.

I used masses of wattle blossom, flowers and foliage, moss, stones, toadstools and a large water bowl to reflect candlelight along with fruiting branches which were used to create a beautiful and magical tribute for Harper, and his dad.

In consultation with Harper’s mum Cindy, I created the large installation along with toys, pictures and objects that Harper loved.

The hundreds of guests attending were invited to light a candle beside Harper’s casket within the alter, which glowed throughout the service.

Because there were many of Harper’s young friends at the funeral, I wanted to create a space that had lots of beauty and wonder for them to look at during such a difficult time.
