All About Slugs and Snails

Lockdown Show

During the Covid 19 pandemic Melbourne became the world’s leading city for lockdowns. Overall, we stayed at home for work, school and play for more than 250 days, over 6 lockdowns.

During these lockdowns my income streams virtually dried up. I was unable to run workshops, do event floristry, have open studio events etc.

It was during the third lockdown (or was it the fourth?) that I decided to put on a virtual exhibition and share it with my social media community.

Over many weeks I painted and sculpted snails and slugs in all colours of the rainbow. I researched some of the world’s most beautiful gastropods and also made them up from my imagination.

This is the body of work I made for my virtual show.
